GESE 5 Means of Transport Lesson – An integrated skills lesson

GESE 5 Means of Transport Lesson

In this download, you can find an integrated skills lesson about the topic of MEANS OF TRANSPORT to help your GESE 5 students prepare for the Means of Transport conversation area. It involves reading, writing and speaking about transport options in London.

How to use the GESE 5 Means of Transport Lesson

The lesson starts with a vocabulary brainstorm and then a discussion about how students use different means of transport.

The next part of the class involves a reading text about transport in London. The reading is an ISE I style multi-text reading activity – the students match sentences to texts, they find true statements and they have to complete the summary notes with a few words from the text. However, even if your students aren’t thinking about doing an ISE exam, the reading questions are still good practice as they ask the students to skim and scan the text and read for more detailed information – very useful second language reading skills to develop!

Finally, there is a writing task where students have to write an article about the transport options in London.

You can download the lesson by clicking on the red button below. Enjoy using it with your students :)
